Don’t buy a car out of your means. Know what you can actually afford. You may afford to buy a particular car but that doesn’t necessarily mean you can afford to maintain it.


You don’t want to pay an exorbitant monthly payment for a car, then pay for the upkeep and maintenance, and be barely able to afford other important expenses.


Create a plan and put together a budget. Make sure all your expenses fit comfortably within the budget. Do your research.


Figure out the annual average cost of operation and the related expenses for the car you are thinking of buying.
